Career Planning-the Bumblebee Program
Why do we call it the Bumblebee Program?
Everyone, except the bumblebee itself, knows that a bumblebee can't fly. Its body is too big for such small wings and furthermore it isn't particularly streamlined like the wasp. You can read a good article about this popular myth at:
There are many references to the fact that the bumblebee can not fly. But we all know the bumblebee ignores the mathematics of aeronautical engineering and flies anyway. A very logical explanation is available at
"The real issue is not that scientists are wrong but that there's a crucial difference between a thing and a mathematical model of the thing."
There is also a difference between what people ARE and what what others think they SHOULD be. Too often, we deal with people based on our expectations rather than looking at the person as a unique individual. The person then tries to gain acceptance by adapting to the expectations of others. The result is a self-fulfilling prophecy which further reinforces the expectations which created it.
Our vision is a society in which all people view themselves as unique and talented individuals capable of achieving whatever goals they are willing to devote the required resources to. Our vision is a world of bumblebees who ignore preconceptions and accomplish things that others consider impossible. We intend to accomplish this by achieving the following goals:
1. Reaching out to those whose environment does not promote a positive self-image and expectations that personal goals can be achieved.
2. Empower these people to see themselves for the uniquely talented individuals they are.
3. Give them the tools and guidance to identify appropriate goals. In doing this, we will encourage clients to improve physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. We will encourage them to develop positive relationships with their families, their communities and themselves.
4. Assist clients in developing step-by-step strategies to accomplish ultimate goals. We will also provide needed resources and guidance in how to properly use these resources. This website is an example of such a resource.
5. Monitor the progress of our clients and serve as mentors to keep them moving toward positive expectations. As goals are achieved, assist clients in identifying areas for future growth.
6. As clients experience growth and fulfillment, encourage them to act as mentors for others who may need guidance to identify and achieve objectives.
We foresee several areas where there is a need for this program such as education, corrections and mental health. As we identify target populations, we will develop strategies and programs to serve them. We welcome the input and participation of all facets of the community as we develop a model for producing citizens who will be an asset to themselves and others.
Before you can achieve anything, you have to believe two things:
1. You CAN achieve it.
Use The 10 Commandments for an Effective Life to achieve your goals.
2. You DESERVE to achieve it.
