Do You Believe in Reincarnation?
Dear Brother Ron
Genesis 2:7tells us, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". For God to breathe life into inanimate material, there had to be more to that breath than just air. The Hebrew word translated here as "breath" is neshamah, which means vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect. It is because we have the breath of life within us that we are able to think, to reason and communicate with our heavenly Father.
We often speak of the Holy Spirit. The word "spirit" in the Bible was translated from the Greek word pneuma, which means breath. The implication here is clear. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God within each of us. As I stated earlier, this breath is more than just air. It is a part of the living God Himself.
Now since God is perfect, He can never change. He is the same yesterday, tomorrow and for all eternity. So if part of God is alive within us, that part must return to Him when our bodies are no longer capable of supporting it. Otherwise, God has lost part of Himself, which means he is less than He was, is no longer perfect and no longer God.
I believe that God is the source of all life. I
believe that a part of the living God lives within all of us. I believe that
God can never lose a part of Himself. I believe that, when the body dies,
the part of God within us returns to the source it came from. I believe God
uses that part of Himself to create new life, which is what God does.
In that sense, I believe in reincarnation.
