Explaining the Trinity
Dear Brother Ron
Is this a good example for explaining the Trinity? Here is this guy named Joe. Joe is a father. He is also someone's son. He is also a brother and he has a spirit. But he is still Joe, just one guy.
Here is a better example. God the Father is the Supreme Being, who exists in a reality of infinite dimensions. Since He can not communicate with us due to our limited senses and concept of reality, He had to manifest Himself in human form to share His message and plan for the world.
Actually, He exists within each of us as the Holy Spirit. The word "spirit" is taken from the Greek word for breath. Genesis tells us that God breathed the breath of life (His Spirit) into Adam and Adam became a living being. I believe that God is the breath of life and we all live because of His Spirit (breath) within us.
You are correct in stating that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are merely three aspects of the same being. The Father is the God who rules the universe and exists in a reality beyond our understanding. In order to communicate with us, He sent His Son to show His love for us and help us to understand the fullness of His love for us. And we live because a part of the God who is the source of all life in the universe is alive within us.
Hope that helps.
