Dear Brother Ron

I am really confused. I have been told one cannot find God without the Jehovah's Witness Organization, but I heard a Jehovah's Witness say that one can find God through individual prayer, and that no one can take that away from a person. So I have a question  about disfellowshipping and what happens when a repentant person is not allowed to return to the Organization because the organization has determined that person will never be repentent enough. I wonder if the disfellowshipped loses their relationship with God, since the only way a Jehovah's Witness can find God is through the Organization, especially if they were to die without having ever been reinstated, no matter how much they wanted to be.

So, we don't need the Organization because we can find God through individual prayer?

Dear Patty C

God is alive within you, not within the organization. Jesus told us this. Luke 17:21-Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
We also find in Matthew 24:23-24-Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Jesus was also a big fan of individual prayer. He tells us in Matthew 6:5-6-And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

The organization was created by humans and is controlled by humans. God is totally separate from the organization and is not dependent on them. Furthermore, contrary to their propaganda, God did not appoint any religious organization to be His exclusive agents on this planet. Almost every religious organization claims that they alone have the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Many further claim that only their followers will be allowed into God's kingdom. It's great marketing but it's lousy theology.

You can find God alive and well in the innermost part of your being. You will not find Him in a book, a building or a Board of Directors. God does not need a legal entity to speak for Him. What human is smart enough to search within a human soul and evaluate repentance? What human can predict future behavior or future beliefs?  Anybody egotistical enough to assume such responsibility is obviously speaking for himself, not God.

Best always
