Only Begotten Son

Dear Brother Ron

Why is it that God can only have one "begotten son"? Aren't all believers God's children?

Yerfavor

Dear Yerfavor

Actually even the non-believers are God's children. If your child gets mad at you because you will not let them have their way and stomps their foot and says, "You're not my daddy any more", does that mean you do not exist? Does that mean you no longer feel affection toward your wayward child? Hardly.

We are all God's children. Jesus was just the first to really understand the power of that relationship and to fully assume the role of God's child. Jesus did not want us to worship Him, he wanted us to imitate Him. He wanted us to have the same relationship with God that He had. He told us that, if we had a firm unshakable faith in God, we could move mountains, walk on water and heal the sick just as He did.

Unfortunately, the religious institutions twisted the message and we turned our focus to the messenger instead of the message. You are indeed a child of God. Get to know your Father. He's not in a book or a building. He is alive inside your heart. Jesus told us that, too.

Best always
Brother Ron
