Question on Coveting

Dear Brother Ron

I often pray for god to show me a vision of "what if" my life where different. I always fantasize about a different and better life. Sometimes I pray for god to let me see how what  I am thinking about would have been like from his omniscient point of view

Am I committing any sins with this thought process? I am not jealous of anything in this world. I just hate the life and destiny I have right now which is why this habitual thought process started. Am I sinning? What sins are they? Can you give me some scriptures?

Dear Questions

The only sin you are committing is fantasizing about your future instead of working to make it come true. As long as all you do is fantasize, your future will remain exactly that-a fantasy. Let's turn your fantasy into a reality. The first thing I want you to do is figure out what kind of life you want for yourself. You will find the tools at

 very useful.

Once you have decided where you want to go, the next step is planning a strategy to get there. In order to do that, you will need to know where you are now. Go to They have a wealth of information about various careers and what it takes to get them. You can also make a list of your talents and find a career which matches them.

Once you have identified career possibilities, confirm your choices by doing informational interviews. You can find information about how to do this at This will serve two purposes. First, you will find out what your future career is like in the real world. This will let you know whether you have really made the right choice. Second, you will get to meet prospective employers without the stress of a job interview. We have all heard the expression "It's not what you know, it's who you know". This is an excellent way to get people to know you.

Use the other tools at  to help you develop a successful career which will give you the resources to make your dreams come true. If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Best always
Brother Ron
