Satanic Symbols

Dear Brother Ron

Why do some Christians seem to think every symbol is satanic/evil or try to say that a sign has Christian undertones, like the pentacle? Someone just posted that the peace sign was satanic. That's the silliest thing I've read today.

Backwards

Dear Backwards

You find what you seek. Some people see evil in everything. If that's what you look for, you will find it. I have heard Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz described as Satanic. As Tom Lehrer said in his song "Smut",

When correctly viewed, everything is lewd.
I could tell you things about Peter Pan.
And the Wizard of Oz, there's a dirty old man.

Of course, some of this is done for commercial purposes. A fund raising campaign needs something to campaign against. First you create the need (we are beset by evil), then you offer a solution (write your Congressman, stage a protest, have a revival, contribute to the cause, etc.).

Keep those pledges coming, brothers and sisters.

Best always
Brother Ron
