Thinking Too Highly of Yourself
Dear Brother Ron
Being perfect and wonderfully made; how can a person think higher of
themselves than they ought to? Some great friends and I are having a
discussion about this, Tell me how can you speak God Confidence without
thinking higher of yourself than you ought to? Humility is a funny thing
isn't it and yet God chose you to speak. Think about and let me know what
Since the Spirit of the living God lives within me, I have power and riches
beyond compare. I am a child of the most powerful being in the universe, who
loves me unconditionally. But since every other human can make the same
statement, this does not mean that I am anybody special.
It does mean, however, since I have a positive opinion of myself, I do not
need to put others down to make myself feel big. If I see myself as a
wonderful person, I have no problem accepting you as a wonderful person. A
person who sees himself as small and insignificant needs to degrade others
in order to feel better about himself. I have no such need.
The humility comes when I compare myself to our Father. I have many talents
and a long history of accomplishments. In comparison to our Father, however,
I am less than a cockroach. But like any other child, I am growing and know
that eventually I will realize the glory my Father has planned for me.
I am 62 years old. I can't wait to see what I'm going to be when I grow up.
