Thinking Too Highly of Yourself

Dear Brother Ron

Being perfect and wonderfully made; how can a person think higher of themselves than they ought to? Some great friends and I are having a discussion about this, Tell me how can you speak God Confidence without thinking higher of yourself than you ought to? Humility is a funny thing isn't it and yet God chose you to speak. Think about and let me know what you think.

Hopeful

Dear Hopeful

Since the Spirit of the living God lives within me, I have power and riches beyond compare. I am a child of the most powerful being in the universe, who loves me unconditionally. But since every other human can make the same statement, this does not mean that I am anybody special.

It does mean, however, since I have a positive opinion of myself, I do not need to put others down to make myself feel big. If I see myself as a wonderful person, I have no problem accepting you as a wonderful person. A person who sees himself as small and insignificant needs to degrade others in order to feel better about himself. I have no such need.

The humility comes when I compare myself to our Father. I have many talents and a long history of accomplishments. In comparison to our Father, however, I am less than a cockroach. But like any other child, I am growing and know that eventually I will realize the glory my Father has planned for me.

I am 62 years old. I can't wait to see what I'm going to be when I grow up.

Best always
Brother Ron
