Where Does Jesus Say "Worship Me"?

Dear Brother Ron

Is there any verse in our Bible in which Jesus says, "I am God" or "worship me"? If there is, please post the verse and reference. I'm waiting for a reply. If there is any verse like this, I will become a Christian.

Arshad

Dear Arshad

The closest Jesus comes to saying He is God is in the 16th chapter of Matthew.

Matthew 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus never said He was God. Nor did He say that we should worship Him. In fact, He quite specifically instructed us to worship God.

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Jesus did not want us to worship Him, He wanted us to follow Him. Furthermore, He told us on many occasions that, if we had total faith in God that we could be as great as Him.

Matthew 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. Matthew 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid". Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water". Matthew 14:29 And he said, "Come". And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Matthew 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, "Lord, save me". Matthew 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, "If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you."

A true Christian is not one who joins a church and sings praises on Sunday. A true Christian is one who does what Jesus told us to do-love God, love each other and have total faith and love of God. Do this and you too can claim to be a son of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Best always
