World Without End

Dear Brother Ron

Ephesians 3:21-"Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen". That says the world will not end. Revelations says it will be destroyed. God will destroy the world, or the world is without end?

Then it says, in John3:16, God loves the world so much he died to save them. But in John 14, Judas asks why he reveals himself to some but not the whole world, to which Jesus replies, they are not made perfect in love. So which is it, God loves the world, or God loves certain people in the world? Surely you can see the confusion here?

Jezebel

Dear Jezebel

The planet we call earth will indeed be destroyed when the sun goes supernova in about eight billion years. God's world, however, exists beyond our space-time continuum and is eternal. So for the church (meaning the people who make up the church), their world (eternal existence with God) will not end.

God loves all of his children but some are not yet spiritually mature enough for higher levels of understanding. The important word here is YET. I have a real problem with the term "chosen people". We are all chosen to receive God's gift of life. We are all God's children and, like all children, we are still maturing.

Some children grow up faster than others and reach higher levels of spiritual under-standing sooner. Others grow more slowly. It may take some people several lifetimes to reach full spiritual maturity.

Fortunately, God literally has all the time in the world.

Best always
Brother Ron
